Learning Through Experience

Northwest Outward Bound School partners with K-12 schools and colleges to create outdoor and wilderness programs for youth and adults ages 12 and over to reach further than they thought possible — physically and emotionally — and find the untapped strength within themselves.

Social-emotional development is the foundation of our courses. Northwest Outward Bound School programs develop confidence, compassion, and meaningful connections among participants. Our instructors are skilled in creating opportunities for students to communicate, connect with each other, and find success through teamwork.

Through every Outward Bound course, students discover skills that last a lifetime, compassion for themselves and others, and a new understanding of what they can achieve.

Program Offerings

Each Outward Bound Wilderness Expedition is designed to be a unique experience for your school with an itinerary tailored to best meet your school's goals and outcomes. Based in either Central Oregon or Northern Washington, multi-day expeditions can range from 3 to 70 days. Previous experience is not needed.
